Testimonials from Real Scholarship Recipients!
Dear Scholarship Board,
I wanted to reach out to you and say a huge thank you for the work you do to support students to be able to financially afford the attending the seminars. The scholarship fund has been instrumental in helping spread the ripple. As a scholarship recipient I can tell you first hand the support changed my life. In four years I have turned my life around. When I started this journey I was searching for a place to connect; with the world and individually with people. I was filled with anger and at the end of my rope spiritually, financially and emotionally. Since then I have begun to heal all of the relationships in my life at home and at work. I have more than doubled my salary and created open and supportive relationships in my work life.
I have grown closer to my family and created a new family through staffing and staying involved with the seminars. All with the tools I learned at Pathways. I have grown and continue to grow so much. I have learned how to challenge myself and hold myself accountable. I have learned how to set and achieve my goals helping live the life I have always dreamed of living. I have learned how to set boundaries and how to hold someone else accountable lovingly. I have learned how to overcome my fear and come from a place of love. I have learned not to beat up on myself when I fall and how to get the support I need to stand up and start again.
Last year, while I was preparing to staff a Basic Seminar, I recieved an email advertising a low price for skydiving. I thought…no way! I was so afraid! Instead of retreating, I decided to do something different. I reached out to a couple of buddies and asked them if they would take this risk with me! I have never been so terrified in my life. But I did it. I stood in my fear and jumped. I have never felt so free. That is what I have learned. So any opportunity I have I will continue to support the scholarship fund. it has supported me and many of my loved ones to soar…literally and figuratively.Thank you so much for all of the work you do for us and this organization. I know we are changing lives with your help, one donation at a time, one student at a time…
Lots of love,
I’m a single parent of three amazing children – but I didn’t always feel that way.
A few years ago, there was lots of yelling going on in my house, mostly between my oldest, Lauren, 19 at the time, and myself. My other two, then 14 and 9, would usually go hide in their rooms so they didn’t have to listen to all of the fighting. She was angry at the world because she had come home after a year of college to figure out her next step as well as dealing with the death of her father (my first husband). I was annoyed that she was home, disrupting the house that had been quieter for a year when she was at college and angry because I wasn’t standing up for myself when she was screaming and swearing at me.After work, I used to sit in the car for 20 -30 minutes because I didn’t want to go into the house.
This was not how I imagined my life to be. I was miserable. We all were.
Attending the Pathways Seminars changed everything for us. We learned how to respect and listen to each other, communicate more effectively, deal with our anger and frustration and so much more. I also learned how to love myself and my self-esteem started to grow. When that happened, setting boundaries and standing up for myself became so much easier. After attending the Advanced and Leadership Seminar, I decided to go back to school and became a Life Coach – I actually help parents of teens so that they can have relationships with their kids that they’re proud of. And Lauren is almost done with college now, has a plan in place for after she graduates and loves her life, too.None of this would have been possible without the help of the Jeffrey Paige Scholarship Fund. I didn’t have the extra money to afford the seminar.
The scholarship made it possible for two of my kids to go through the seminar, and I am eternally grateful for that. Because of such gracious donors to the scholarship fund who made it possible to attend the seminars, I now have amazing relationships with each of my children (now 22, 17 and almost 13), I have figured out what’s most important to me, I am building my coaching business while keeping my life in balance, and navigating through dating in my 40’s.
Life is great!! Thank you, Pathways!!
I would like to thank you from the bottom of my heart for your generous scholarship. It means the world to me that you were there to offer financial support to a stranger. Had it not been for the scholarship, I would not have been able to attend the Basic seminar. Attending the Basic seminar gave me hope in my life that I had long since given up on ever finding again. I came out of there with tools and lessons that will last a lifetime. My approach to adversity and what I want out of my life will be forever changed.
Thank you again for your open hearts and kindness.
Dear Scholarship Committee,
I am writing this letter to deeply thank you for the scholarship you so generously awarded to me. My name is Daniel Saraiva, I am 25 years old, live in New Jersey, and first attended the Basic seminar when I was 21 years old. I was approached by my manager and close friend to attend the seminars. I had never before attended any type of self-improvement seminar and wasn’t really sure what to expect. I was looking to go and work on my fear with public speaking and be a better businessman and leader.
What I learned and gained was far more than I could have ever imagined.I walked in a scared, shy, closeted, introverted boy. And after both the Basic and Advanced seminars I found the strong gay, outspoken, proud, confident and worthy man I really am.
I was only able to go to Advanced because of the help of the Scholarship fund. I am so thankful and honored that I was selected to receive the help to attend. My life truly did change because of the tools I learned to use at the Pathways seminars.Since my basic I have paid it forward by having 10 (if not more) people go through the seminars, many having gone to advanced and are sponsoring their family and friends of their own. I have been on staff several times and continue my work to this day.I have had my partner attend the seminar and repeated Basic with him. His mother has attended and we have created an amazing bond.
My life is filled now with love, abundance, fulfillment, and passion. I am still on that road of discovery, the path of self-improvement is never ending. But the biggest gift I have ever received was being sponsored into Basic, and like a ripple I shall pass the gift along to others to create more ripples and create a world where we can feel safe to love and have peace.
With Love and Thanks,
To the Board of Directors,
There truly are no words to describe my gratitude for the scholarship I received to attend the Basic seminar in January 2013. When I walked into the room, I had no idea how drastically it would change my life. And without that scholarship, my life would not be the beautiful creation it is today.
At the time I was encouraged to attend Basic, my life appeared (to me) to be in shambles. I was hurting in ways I couldn’t express and was holding onto more anger than I knew what to do with. I was so afraid of everyone else thinking that I failed… or potentially “failing” again – that I wouldn’t even set a goal for myself.
The Basic seminar was my first step on my journey of forgiveness, loving myself and being FREE! Now, 14 months later… I have completed Basic, Advanced and Leadership. I have staffed twice and am continuously setting goals for myself, bringing me closer to living the life I have always dreamed of.In January 2013, I never imagined that my life could look how it does now… full of close, loving relationships, self confidence, and love for myself and other. I am really just rocking at being me!
Thank you, thank you, thank you for this fulfilling and beautiful experience!!
With big love and bundles of gratitude,
To Whom It May Concern,
It has now been over a year since I attended the Basic seminar in Chicago, and I cannot thank the Board enough for providing me with a scholarship. I could not have attended without such support. In the Basic seminar I began to learn how recognize my fears and barriers to success, how to take steps to face my fears by stepping out of my comfort zone, and start becoming the successful person I have always wanted to be, by taking risks.
Thanks to the tools I learned in Basic, I have received a promotion in my career, as well as a raise, and feel that I can now confidently contribute more to my field. My children and I have much better communication and are closer than we were before I attended Basic. I look forward to attending Basic with my children when they are old enough and ready. I am still using the tools I learned at Basic to continue taking risks and stepping out of my comfort zone. They are still working!
